CURRENT SERIES

CALLED TO MORE

When we take a step back and look at our lives, we may find ourselves wondering, “Is this really it?” Are we just going through the motions or, perhaps worse, living in chaos? This Lenten series explores the actions, habits and systems that separate us from God and looks to the cross of Jesus to discover that we are called to do so much more.

A Thursday evening small group will meet during Lent at 6:00 on the church's mainl level.

LENT IS

Lent is a season that invites into a time of reflection and renewal. There is no "right" way to experience Lent. It is simply a time to take a step back and consider our lives and our faith. It invites us to ask questions. How is it with my soul? In what ways can I lean toward a greater sense of purpose and faith? During these weeks that come before Easter, you may decide to give something up or take something on. The choice is yours.

Worship can play a meaningful role in your experience of Lent. You are invited to share in worship Sunday mornings at 9:00 at Grace UMC in Cape Girardeau.

HEALING WORSHIP

Share in a service of healing for body, mind and spirit on Thursday, March 27 at 6:30 pm. As we meet we will share some information about healing and all the ways we can experience it along with worship and prayer. For those who are in need of healing and/or peace, the curious and those who want to share in a deeply moving experience alongside others.

AS EASTER APPROACHES

You can take in a deeper understanding of the joy of Easter by taking in two unique worship experiences in the days just before.

On Thursday evening April 17 at 6:00 pm we will share in a light meal and  less formal worship in Fellowship Center. The evening will guide us toward a clear remembrance of Jesus last commandment, "To love one another." The day is called "Maundy Thursday" due to the Latin meaning of the word, "maundy," as "commandment.

On Friday evening April 18 at 6:30 pm, we will confront the grief and consequences of Jesus' last hours before his execution. Known as "Good Friday," this worship moment is indeed "good" because it reminds us that despite the pain of that last day, Jesus was able to rise again and wiped away the darkness that sin and death may try to hold over us.
